I knock out Monarchy, flip that to Charlemagne for Monotheism and double revolt (2 turns) to Organized Religion and Hereditary Rule. I then start building warriors, warriors and more warriors to knock my happy-cap up a couple of notches. Early growth was horizontal, current growth is vertical.
I also flip Monarchy to Suleiman for Iron Working ... I have iron ... in my capital's BFC too. And then ... oh oh ... Sitting Bull goes into WHEOOHs mode - I get the fist warning sign on the scoreboard from BUG ... so I quickly checked the Sit Rep report ...
How is that threat index calculated again? I roughly know what is in it (I did code it up about 700 years ago) but lets look at the code ...
Ahhh, it is a multi-component index comprising of:
- relationship component
- ranges from 0 to 38
- based on the attitude count (sum of +X and -Ys)
- 0 attitude gives value of 19
- power ratio component
- ranges from 0 to 38
- the higher your power to these, the lower this value
- power ratio of 1.00 gives value of 19
- if you don't have enough EPs to see their power, this value is set to 75% of 38 'estimate' is placed next to the threat index
- Combine the relationship component and the power component to give the raw threat index
- If player is WHEOOHs and not currently at war, threat index is multiplied by 1.3
- If you have a defensive pact with the player, thread index is multiplied by 0.2
- The resulting threat index is then converted to 1 of 5 values
- -15 gives Low (Green)
- 16-35 gives Guarded (Blue)
- 36-55 gives Elevated (Yellow)
- 56-74 gives High (Orange)
- 75+ gives Severe (Red)
Anyway, I will have to watch this and try and work out who his target is. It could easily be me - I am the only Civ he shares a border with. However, Wang Kong is his worst enemy.
