Another Protective AI ... RAGE QUIT ... Ok, not so fast.
Hey ... are the opening greetings from the AIs an indication of their personality? I will have to look into that. If they are ... then what is the point of random personalities if you can find out who they are from the very first turn you greet them?
I get some luck from some more huts ... popping Mysticism and then Agricuture ... just as my first Worker is finishing. He was going to chop another worker but now he might farm. No - he will chop while I complete my 2nd warrior - then he will farm.
My good luck is holding ... I finally met a non Protective AI. Rome - arrgg, praetorians ... oh great. Wait, wait ... no, not Praetorians ... Numidian Cavalry. Oh much much better. At least he is miles and miles away from me. I am not even sure if he is on the same land mass yet.
Is that the opening statement of Abe Lincoln? Or George Washington? Time to dig into the XML. Ahh - found it. It isn't in Vanilla, Warlords or BtS. That comment is in the 'CIV4GameText_Warlords_Diplomacy.xml' file that is part of the BAT mod. And it has a particular leader tag too ... the leader?
AI_DIPLO_FIRST_CONTACT_LEADER_AUGUSTUS_CAESAR_1 - right, so nothing new there.
And that brings me to the end of session one. 23 Turns, 4 AIs, no copper.
And the spying has already started.
