All Happiness is the Release of Internal Pressure

Game Report: Adv21 - The Sky Gods (page 2 of 4)

And we're walking, and we're walking, and we're stopping. Bonus points for anyone who recognizes this quote. In this room you will find a history of our great nation ... The Aztecs.

Zuma struggles to remain interested while the tour guide drones on about the Aztec history. The room contains displays that are much more interesting than this canned history ... stuff that Zuma learnt years ago. However, Zuma will not disappoint his Father by being rude ... he will wait until the group is released.

As you know, the Aztec land spans the Eastern section of the one main continent on our planet. The Egyptians and Romans are to our immediate West (Rome in the North and Egypt in the South). Further West of them are the Americans (North) and the Japanese (South). The Aztecs are the dominate nation on this world. As some of you will not know, there were two other nations on this continent: the Mongolians and the Persians. These nations were absorbed into our great nation many many years ago. The Aztec Priests will tell you tales of how the Sky Gods helped the Aztec people conquer these nations. Naturally, there is little evidence that supports these myths. However, this is not stopping people from praying to these same Sky Gods for deliverance during our current wars with the Egyptians and Romans.

Just before I let you look around this room by yourself, I would like to point out some artistic impressions of how our great Aztec nation started. To my right, you will see an artistic work showing one of the Sky Gods (Mixcoatl) dealing harshly with the barbarians that roamed the land at this early date. I'll release you now so feel free to look around this and the other rooms.

For those that are interested, there is a lecture with leading Aztec scientists and priests discussing the Sky Gods myth and what it means today. This starts in about 30 minutes in the main auditorium.

goodbye barbs

Zuma quickly grabbed his Dad's hand and pulled him over to a model of a very early Tenochtitlan city ... hundreds of years before it became the intellectual capital of the world.

the early days

[OOC: You will notice that there is 10 hammer overflow here. I haven't changed any of the tiles worked. So, where did the 10 hammer overflow come from? I have just finished a worker and the excess food that was put towards the worker turned into hammers and can thus be used to build other things. I put 1 turn into the granary then back to a worker (or settler) with the excess again going to the granary. In that way, I was able to build 4-5 workers, a settler or two and the granary with a city that was at its happy cap and had very little hammer production ... all with no whipping.]

Zuma, can you see that the person putting this model together has used the latest dig results and constructed the country around the capital as farm land rather than the towns that are there now? This model helps to show people that this city started out with huge food production.

Sure Dad, but it is just a model ... who cares! I want to know about the Sky Gods ... they sound awesome! Do they really exist? Will they help us defeat the Egyptians and Romans? Can we go to the lecture later?

Hmmn - I'm not sure we have the time to go to the lecture ... remember, we need to pick up your sister. Anyway, there is alot of discussion about the mythical Sky Gods at the moment. Those digs I mentioned earlier have also turned up artwork depicting the Sky Gods. There are some stories that our current fleet of war crafts are modelled on the images of these Sky Gods ... see here, look ... our bombers on the left, the pictures of the Sky Gods on the right.

Wow - look at how similar they are!

Remember, this is just an artists impression. It isn't evidence. Personally, I wish they did exist because our current war is not going that well. The Priests are saying that we are creating false images and that is why ... oh, lets go look at this model (the father leads Zuma away, angry with himself for discussing the current state of the war with his young son. This was meant to be a fun outing. After seeing the other displays and exhibits, they did leave to pick up Zuma's sister ... the last comment from Zuma: "But Dad! The lecture, silly cry-baby sis can wait").
