Game Report: Epic 7 - Mano v Mano (1/3)
Sirian continues his path through the original Epics with Epic 7 where we are in a pitched race to either space, time, culture or dominion against an Immortal Greek AI - Alexander. The variant rules for this game are that we cannot land units on Alex's continent. Hopefully, he has also read the rules and he cannot land units on ours. Part I - The Start.
Here is my start just after I founded Thebes.
There are a few things to notice about this screenshot ...
- you will notice my new colour scheme ... as approved! ... this is a huge benefit for me because I typically run my 'cobbled mod' which is not approved and don't want to end up playing one of RBs game as a shadow. It is now very easy for me to see which mod I am running as my cobbled mod is green, my mod for RB is red-brown while vanilla civ4 is blue ... as a side note, I was tempted to post at least one screenshot using wingdings but I didn't manage it this game ... maybe next time.
- The resolution is 1680 x 1050 ... It is my birthday soon and I got an early birthday / Christmas present - a new computer and monitor. I am going to load a late game huge map from somewhere just to check that I can play such a game - I don't expect any problems. One thing that has changed over the course of my reports is my screenshots. I use to chop up my shot to show just what I wanted to show, but for the last few games, I have showed the whole screenshot and cut in items that I needed to. Obviously a screenshot which is 1680 x 1050 and then reduced to 800 wide (best width for my web site) gets scrunched and becomes very difficult to read (see above). I will have to go back to cropping my screenshots.
